Ryan Adams - Ashes & Fire (In Studio Acoustic Version) (by RyanAdams)

“Did he play the same songs?” my dad asked when I told him I’d gone to see Ryan Adams this past Friday. And yes, he did, some of them, but nothing was the same.  I think that’s why Ryan Adams has kept my interest so long, it’s always a little different, but still enough the same.  Something to come home to.

If you have seen Ryan in the past few years, it is a completely different show.  This time, acoustic with 2 guitars and a piano he literally had the audience sitting on the edges of their seats.  I’ve never been to a show that was so quiet before (save the “loudest voice in seattle), it almost felt like everyone was holding their breath to see what was next.

At some point or another all of my friends have been introduced to Ryan, but this was the first time D went with, and I think she described it perfectly, “Pretty and honest.”

Ashes & Fire is a pretty great album too.  I can’t stop listening.

Saw these guys last week at Neumos in Seattle.  Super Duper show and insane amounts of fun.  A little worse for the wear the next day, but all in all worth it.

Grand Hallaway & Magic Mountain were pretty stellar, too.

Here’s the promised Joseph Arthur covers the Smiths video….I can’t find my mp3 of it, so the video will have to do.

I love this…perfect for early morning listening…but a little sad, maybe.
